Setting Blinking Effects for Objects

With Flying Popcorn, you can make objects blink or repeatedly appear and disappear in a variety of ways. This is a good way to draw attention to an object or make your project more visually appealing. It is done through the Blinking/Button Animation Settings dialog box which can be accessed through the Attributes tab of the Object Properties window.

To set the blinking effects for an object

  • Double-click the object
  • In the Object Properties window, click the Attributes tab.
  • In the Blinking effect section, click Settings.
  • Adjust the settings as you want and click OK.
  • Blinking/Button Animaton Settings

Animation Mode

You can choose between Disabled, Repeat and Action Button. If the mode is set to Disabled, the button will not blink. If it is set to Repeat it will continually blink. If it is set to Action Button, it will blink only if an action has been set on the object. If you move the mouse over the object, the blinking will cease.

Animation Type

There are four different animation types. Blink animation (FADE) causes the object to fade in and fade out. IN/OUT effect animation (IN/OUT) makes the object's In/Out effects occur repeatedly. Followed object's blink animation (FADE) makes the selected object display no effects, but objects that are linked to the selected object fade in and out repeatedly. Followed object's IN/OUT animation (In/Out) makes the In/Out effects of linked objects occur repeatedly. For more information on linked objects, see Setting roll-overs & linked objects. For more information on In/Out effects, see Adding In/Out effects to objects.

Wait

This controls the delay that occurs before the blink animation begins. The value entered in the field determines the number of seconds to wait. The value must be between 0 - 60.

Interval

This controls how often the blink animation occurs. The value entered in the field determines the number of seconds between the beginning of every blink repetition. Enter a value between 1 and 60.

Speed

This controls how fast the blink animation plays. Enter a value between -100 and 100, with -100 being the slowest and 100 being the fastest. 0 is the default value.

In/Out sequential repeat

The In/Out effects are alternately repeated every time period.
