Drawing Objects
Drawing objects are components of a drawing (lines, shapes, etc.) that can be added to a page in order to create an illustration. The objects are added one-by-one and edited individually. The available objects include lines, rectangles, rounded rectangles and circles. Aside from creating complex illustrations, you can also create simple effects such as adding a line to separate two paragraphs or framing an image with a rectangle.
To add a new drawing
- In the object toolbar, click
(Drawing).
- In the Drawing Properties dialog box, adjust the settings and click OK.
- Repeat Steps 1 & 2 until the illustration is complete.

- Line Style: These settings only apply to the line drawings. They set the appearance of each end of the line and the main body of the line. Click on the drop-down boxes and choose a style. If the line is a type of dotted line, check the Rounded Edge checkbox to give the segments a rounded appearance.
- Rounded Corner: This setting applies only to rounded rectangle drawings. The values determine how rounded the corners of the rectangle are, with one each for the width and height of the corners. You may enter values between 0 (not rounded) and 100 (very rounded).
