Save to Postscript File

Save to Postscript File is important in publishing industry.

Unlike other output format, Postcript format output requires slightly different procedure.

It is done by printing to a postscript printer as a file.

  1. Goto your computer's control panel, open "Printers and faxes" section; click Add A Printer, choose Local Printer and , uncheck "Automatically Detect..."; when prompted for Select a Printer Port, choose "FILE: (Print to File)"; in the printer list, choose a Postcript printer (even if you don't have the physical printer, you can still install its driver); a good choice would be Apple Color LW 12/660 PS, or Apple LaserWriter 12/600 PS (the trailing PS should mean Postscript. Select color printer if possible), in Apple family.
  2. Go back to your label design, in the main menu, click Choose Printer; in the dialog, select the postscript printer you added in step 1.
  3. Invoke Print dialog, do a normal print (uncheck the Print To Image checkbox). The output file is the postscript file.
