Quick Start Guide
Despite having a whole host of powerful features EventMeister is incredibly easy to use. Simply follow our quick start guide to get up and running in under 5 minutes. You can then explore the full feature set at your leisure.
This guide will take you through the steps of setting up a simple Application Event Log feed and creating a Notification Object to watch the feed and display a task bar popup whenever an Error appears in the Application log.

Stage 1 : Create an Event Log Feed
- Click on the 'Feeds' tab to make sure it is active
- Click on the 'New Feed' toolbar button to invoke the Feed Wizard
- Wizard Page 1: Accept the default option of 'This Computer' then click on the 'Next' button.
- Wizard Page 2: Check 'Application Log' in the list of available Event Logs. Click on the 'Next' button.
- Wizard Pages 3, 4, 5 & 6: Click the 'Next' button on all remaining wizard pages without making any changes. Select 'Finish' on the final page.
- The new feed name will appear in the left hand pane of the main EventMeister window. When your feed is selected, the feed data will be displayed in the right-hand pane.
