Other Feed Maintenance Tasks

Compact a feed (Feed Menu)
Compacting a feed minimizes the amount of disk space used for stored data and speeds loading/display. EventMeister compacts feeds automatically every few hours. If you have recently reduced feed capacity by reducing the number of items to display in a feed then a manual compact may improve performance.

Polling a feed (Feed Menu)
Use this command to trigger an immediate poll of the currently selected feed.

Empty a feed (Feed Menu)
Use this command to empty EventMeister's local copy of a log. This will have no affect on the source log.

Reset a feed (Feed Menu)
Use this command to flush EventMeister's local copy of a log, and regenerate it applying any filtering properties that have been defined. For example, changes that are made to a feed's filter are only applied to new data. Use this command to apply the changes retrospectively.

Enable/disable a feed
Tick / un-tick the checkbox beside a feed name in the Feeds Tab to enable / disable a feed. When a feed is disabled, no new data will be received by that feed. When an aggregate feed is disabled, the standard feeds that it is sourced from will still receive new data.
