Item Values Dialog
The Item Values dialog displays all the fields for a single item. To show the dialog, either select "Item Values" from the View menu, or double-click an item in the right hand pane of the main window.
The vertical and horizontal space given to each field can be changed by clicking and dragging the dividers, and the dialog itself can be resized in the usual way.
Sync On / Sync Off
When the dialog is first shown, it is automatically synchronised to the main display. In other words, the item displayed in the main display is the item shown in the dialog. If a different item is selected in the main display, the Item Values dialog switches to that item. Clicking Next/Prev changes both the item selected in the main display and the item shown by the dialog.
You can temporarily disable synchronisation by clearing the "Sync" checkbox. Now, the Item Values dialog operates separately from the main display. Additionally, Next/Prev no longer obey the ordering or filter curently active in the main display. It is even possible to switch to a different feed in the main display without disturbing the contents of the dialog.
To restore synchronisation, tick the "Sync" checkbox. Alternatively, double-click on an item in the main display for a single-shot resynchronisation.
Copy
To copy the contents of a particular field, select the text you wish to copy and press Copy. Other methods of copying the text such as right-clicking or using the CTRL-C key sequence also apply. |
