Protocols: How to

This section provides instructions on how to configure Protocols in the NetworkShield Firewall 2006.

  • Create a protocol
  • Edit a protocol

To create a new protocol definition

  • In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
    • Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
    • Expand Configuration
    • Click Protocols
  • Click Create a Protocol Definition Create a Protocol Definition on the Toolbar.
  • In the New Protocol Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions.

Note

To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.

To edit a protocol

  • In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
    • Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
    • Expand Configuration
    • Click Protocols
  • In the configuration section, click the applicable protocol definition.
  • Click Edit Selected Protocol Edit Selected Protocol on the Toolbar.
  • To edit the General settings select the General tab.
  • To edit an Protocol type, source and destination ports (for TCP and UDP) or ICMP type and code (for
  • ICMP) select the Parameters tab.

Note
