Networks Objects: How to
This section provides instructions on how to configure a Network Objects for NetworkShield Firewall 2006.

To create a new private network
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
- Expand Configuration
- Click Networks
- Select the Networks tab
- Click Create a New Network
on the Toolbar.
- In the New Network Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions.
- On the Network Type step select the Private Network type.
Note
To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
To create a new public network
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006.
- Expand Configuration.
- Click Networks.
- Select the Networks tab.
- Click Create a New Network
on the Toolbar.
- In the New Network Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions.
- On the Network Type step select the Public Network type.
Note
To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
To create a new network set
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006.
- Expand Configuration.
- Click Networks.
- Select the Network Sets tab.
- Click Create a New Network Set
on the Toolbar.
- In Name field, type the name of the Network Set.
- In Description field, type a description of the Network Set (Optional).
- Click Add... and select one or more Networks.
Note
To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
To create a new user
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006.
- Expand Configuration.
- Click Users and Groups.
- Select the Users tab.
- Click Create a New User
on the Toolbar.
- In Name, type the name of the User.
- In the New User Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions.
Note
- To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
- To authenticate User by Windows logon name you need NetworkShield Security Client installed on user's PC.
To create a new group
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
- Expand Configuration
- Click Users and Groups
- Select the Groups tab
- Click Create a New Group
on the Toolbar.
- In Name field, type the name of the Group.
- In Description field, type a description of the Group (Optional).
- Click Add... and select one or more Users
Note

To create a new computer
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
- Expand Configuration
- Click Network Objects
- Select the Computers tab
- Click Create a New Computer
on the Toolbar.
- In the New Computer Wizard, follow the on-screen instructions.

To create a new computer set
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
- Expand Configuration
- Click Network Objects
- Select the Computer Sets tab
- Click Create a New Computer Set
on the Toolbar.
- In Name field, type the name of the Computer Set.
- In Description field, type a description of the Computer Set (Optional).
- Click Add... and select one or more Computers
Note
To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
To create a new IP address range
- In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
- Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
- Expand Configuration
- Click Network Objects
- Select the IP ranges tab
- Click Create a New IP Range
on the Toolbar.
- In Name, type the name of the IP Address Range.
- In Description, type a description of the IP Address Range (Optional).
- In Start Address and End Address, type the start ans end IP addresses for IP Range.
Note
To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
