Editing Rules

To edit a predefined firewall rule

  • In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
    • Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006
    • Click Firewall Policy
  • In the configuration section, click the applicable rule from Predefined Firewall Policy Rules list.
  • Click Edit Selected Rule Edit Selected Rule on the Toolbar.
  • To edit a Source select the From tab, to edit a Destination select the To tab.
    • Click Add... to add a source or destination objects for selected rule.
    • In Network Objects, select the applicable network objects and click Add.

Note

  • You can edit only sources and destinations which not equal to Local Host.
  • To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.

To edit an Access rule

  • In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
    • Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006.
    • Click Firewall Policy.
  • In the configuration section, click the applicable access rule from User Defined Firewall Policy Rules list.
  • Click Edit Selected Rule Edit Selected Rule on the Toolbar.
  • To edit the general settings select the General tab.
  • To edit an action for access rule select the Action tab.
    • To allow client access, click Allow.
    • To deny client access, click Deny.
  • To edit a protocols for access rule select the Protocol tab.
    • Click Add... to add protocols for selected rule.
    • In Network Objects, select the applicable protocols and click Add.
  • To edit a source for access rule select the From tab.
    • Click Add... to add source objects for selected rule.
    • In Network Objects, select the applicable network objects and click Add.
  • To edit a destination for access rule select the To tab.
    • Click Add... to add destination objects for selected rule.
    • In Network Objects, select the applicable network objects and click Add.
  • To edit a schedule for access rule select the Schedule tab and select the schedule to apply.

Note

To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.

To edit a redirect rule

  • In the console tree of NetworkShield Firewall:
    • Expand NetworkShield Firewall 2006.
    • Click Firewall Policy.
  • In the configuration section, click the applicable redirect rule from User Defined Firewall Policy Rules list.
  • Click Edit Selected Rule Edit Selected Rule on the Toolbar.
  • To edit the General settings select the General tab.
  • To edit a Protocol for redirect rule select the Protocol tab.
    • Select the protocol to which the redirect rule will be applied.
  • To edit a Source for redirect rule select the From tab.
    • Click Add... to add a source objects for selected rule.
    • In Network Objects, select the applicable network objects and click Add.
  • To edit a Destination for redirect rule select the To tab.
    • Click Add... to add a destination objects for selected rule.
  • In Network Objects, select the applicable network objects and click Add.
    • To edit a New destination for redirect rule select the Redirect ro tab.
    • Select the new destination host and protocol where the redirect rule will send the traffic.
  • To edit a Schedule for access rule select the Schedule tab and select the schedule to apply.

Note

To update configuration click the Apply button in the Information Bar above the configuration section.
