Using Sections (Creating Bookmarks)
Bookmarks are stored in Section Tabs. You can have up to 30 Section Tabs per Drawer.
Each Section Tab is an independent window. When you drag a link to bookmark it, Optimal Desktop recognizes the link type and automatically assigns a name and an icon to your Section Tab. You can edit the Name and Icon through the "Customize Section" command (right click on Section Tab you want to edit). Notice that the Name that appears on your Tab is the Name in the Caption filed of the Edit Dialog box.

Drag links from the desktop, your folder bar, or drag the icon in the address bar to create a new Section Tab. You can drag the link and drop it into any Drawer in the current Cabinet.
Double click on the Section Tab to go to the Home of that Section. Double click on the first Page Tab in a Section window to close the window. You can also close Section windows with CTRL + W or from the command in the Toolbar.
Working with Sections
Section Tabs can assume a number of link properties. When you drag links from the desktop or the Internet, Optimal Desktop examines the link and assumes the correct property (Link to folder, URL, RSS, etc). You can also create a Section manually. In this case you have to assign the correct type to your Section Tab.

Section Tabs are shortcuts. Deleting a Section tab simply deletes the shortcut to your content and not the actual content. If the Section Tab points to a folder on your desktop, then the folder is still there. If the Section Tab was dragged directly from the web, then deleting the section also deletes the shortcut from your desktop.
Here is a list of Section Tab types. You can view and change the links behind each Section from the Link Tab in the "Customize Section Dialog"
- URL's directly from the web (web links)
- RSS feeds directly from the web (RSS Feed)
- Folders, drives and any object in the folder bar (Link to Folder)
- RSS Container only stored in the Section tab (RSS Container).
- RSS Query only stored in the Section Tab (Feed Query)
You can create a new Section by using one of the following ways:
Drag any link from the desktop, folder bar or the icon in the address bar
OR
Use right click on a link and use the context menu
OR
Click New Tab > New Section from the toolbar, go to the Link tab, select your link type and enter the link information. You can then go back to the General tab and update the name fields.
