Using Popup Manager
Popup manager, blocks unwanted popup windows to enhance your browsing experience. The Popup Manager settings are accessible through the Tools > Popup-Manager menu, or Tools > Desktop-Manager > Popup-Manager and include the following functions.
Sound Effects
Check this box if you want to hear a sound every time a popup window is blocked. The popup program accounts for the unwanted popup windows generated through online advertising vs. those popups generated by the web page. However in rare circumstances the program may block some popup windows. The sound can help identify those instances. The remedy is to disable the popup program (CTRL + SHIFT + E).
Auto Remove Popup Windows
The three options kill over 90% of all popup windows. The default settings have all three options checked.
Remove Popup Windows by Filter
Those popup windows not caught by the auto remove program can be added to the black list. The settings in this module determine the method of catching black listed windows. It is recommended that you select all three options for maximum flexibility. The three methods are:
- By URL
- By Window Title
- By Window Attribute
Every time an unwanted window popups up you can call up the Add Popup Filter Window, select the URL or Title you want to block from the list and add this to your Black List.
You can save your filters to a file and merge filters from a saved file with your existing list. This function is accessible from the top right corner of the popup manager window.
Windows Attribute Override
Many popup windows have the title or the address bar hidden, so for example adding these windows to the black list is not possible. In this module you can force attributes to your pop up window.
