Using Mobile Desktop

Optimal Desktop™ Mobile Edition (Optional Feature) can be installed on any removable drive. You can launch Mobile Desktop™ from any computer and carry all of your desktop setting, Internet and RSS bookmarks and desktop settings with you.

The Mobile Edition of Optimal Desktop™ works exactly the same as Optimal Desktop™ without limitation.

With this license your are given 5 (five) independent installs, and an unlimited number of updates. Your license is only for one drive at a time. The five iterations are meant to be used in case you lose your drive or experience other hardware problems.

Installing Mobile Desktop

You must first Install Optimal Desktop™ on you computer. You can then access the Mobile Desktop Device Manager from the Start a Programs a Optimal Desktop menu in Windows. Plug in your removable drive (USB flash drives) and install Optimal Desktop on your removable drive.

Cleaning up the Host Computer

Many users concerned with security wish to wipe their footprint from the host computer. Mobile Desktop's clean up feature can prompt you to erase Cookies, History, Temporary Internet files and typed in URL's before exiting the application.

Securing Vital information

Optimal Desktop™ allows you to password protect both your desktop and your recorded passwords just in case you misplace your removable drive. To secure the desktop use the File > Save As … option and then mark the "Protect Desktop with password" box on the bottom left corner of the dialog window. You will be prompted to secure your desktop file with a password. See Link Recorder for instruction on how to secure your Internet Passwords with a master password.
