Browsing Downloaded Site Offline

While downloading a Project a small green forward-arrow will be added to the Project icon. When the download is complete, the Project icon is returned to its normal state. You may view downloaded files offline at this time.

There are several ways to do this:

  • You may right-click on the Project and choose Browse to open the downloaded Web site in the Internal Browser or in the default Web browser in your system, if Internal Browser is turned off.
  • From the context menu described above, you may select Browse With and choose the desired browser (please go to Options | Tools | Browsers to set up an available browsers list for the first time.) The downloaded Web site will be opened using the selected Web browser.
  • You may click on the Map tab to see the downloaded Web site map. The first file will be automatically highlighted. Right-clicking on any file, directory or server will show a context menu with the ability to browse as described in 1 and 2 above.
  • If you set up a list of editors and viewers in the Options |Tools section, you will be able to use these tools with any file listed in the Map through the right-click context menu.

After enjoying offline browsing you may delete the Project and all its downloaded files. To do this, press the Delete key or click the Delete button on the toolbar or choose File | Delete from the main menu. Offline Explorer Enterprise will ask whether you want to erase the downloaded files.

Be careful - if you will answer “No,” the files will be kept on the hard disk and you will have to delete them by hand later to free the disk space.

If you choose not to delete the Project with downloaded files, it will be preserved for you between Offline Explorer Enterprise sessions.
