Swap Source Folders

InfoRecall data Folders can be in many different Source Folders either on the same computer or across a network.

ipod recovery mode data recovery sim card hard disk recovery software
windows disk recovery file recovery freeware recover data free
password breaking data recovery utilities downloads partition file recovery

InfoRecall initially looks for data Folders in ..\data. For instance, if you've installed InfoRecall in C:\Inforecall XP 2006 then InfoRecall would look to C:\Inforecall XP 2006\Data to find Folders.

Data folders have to be swapped to access data in different folders. Once the Data Folders is swapped, InfoRecall will use that folder as its default Data Folder and look for Folders there.

Swap Source Folder

The above shows the Swap Source Folders dialog. Four different Source Folders are shown; two on the same drive and two on different drives. To work on data in one of the Source Folders just click on an available Source Folder and click the Swap button.

To use multiple Source Folders and quickly switch (Swap) between them, they need to be added to the list first.

To Add Source Folders

  • Choose Swap Source Folders from the Tools menu.
  • Click the Add button.
  • Select a new Source Folder.

You can add as many Source Folders as you need.

To Swap Source Folders

  • Choose Swap Source Folders from the Tools menu.
  • Double click on a Source Folder

To Remove Data Folders

  • Choose Swap Source Folders from the Tools menu.
  • Click on a Source Folder in the list.
  • Click the Remove button

Synchronize Data Folders

Synchronizing Data Folders is a very useful if you work on the same Data Folders on more than one computer. Work on your PC at the office then take your Data Folders with you to work on your laptop. Back at the office, synchronize your Data Folders.

Synchronize consists of two operations:

  1. Scan the target and destination folders for Folders that need synchronization.
  2. Synchronize the Data Folders.

InfoRecall Data Folders aren't the only files that can be synchronized! We made it so that all types of Folders can be synchronized.

Your computer keeps track of the date and time a Data Folder was last modified. InfoRecall’s Synchronize Data Folders feature scans your Source and Target folders for Data Folders by the specified File Types then compares their last modified time and date and lists all the Files that have a earlier last modified time and date as candidates for synchronization.

It removes the headache associated with the synchronization of files from one computer to another whether it is your Laptop or computers on your local network.

Note: When synchronizing InfoRecall Data Folders (.dat), Synchronize will automatically synchronize all the Data Folders making up a data set (.dat, .idx, .tre). No need to scan for them separately.

File Types: File Types referes to the File name extensions. A File name extension is an addition to the Folder name in a suffix of the form ".xxx" where "xxx" represents a limited number of alphanumeric characters depending on the operating system. File Types allows a File's format to be described as part of its name so that users can quickly understand the type of File it is. Typical File Types are: .dat, .doc, .txt, .dbx, .html, .xls.

Use File Types to scan for particular Files or use a Wild Card (*.*) to scan for all types of Files in a folder.

Synchronize only scans the chosen Source and Target folders for one File Type at a time and does not scan sub folders.
