Moving Through Documents

You can move through the documents of an open Folder by using the Up or Down keys on your keyboard. when the cursor (focus) is on the Root of a Folder or on a Document in the Tree.

Each document is opened as you move the Up or Down keys over it.

New Document

Creates a new document.

Multiple Documents View:

The new Document is placed on top of all the other open documents.

Single Document View:

The previous document will be closed. If there are changes that weren't saved then InfoRecall will notify you unless you are in Auto Document Save mode in which case the changes will be saved automatically.

Type the Document Name in the box shown above, Your document name can be up to 40 characters long.

After typing the document name hit the enter key or klick the Editor and you are ready to enter text in your new document.

InfoRecall will immediately save the document when you move the cursor from the document name box to the Editor.

Identical Document Names

Identical Document Names

Same document names are not accepted in a Folder, but same document names preceded with a space are accepted. The Sample Folder shown below has four documents named "Sample Document". The first document is preceded by three spaces, the second document is preceded by two spaces, the third document by one space and the fourth document has no preceding space at all.

Warning: Overwriting an existing document will destroy the previous one and replace it with the new one!

New Document with Clipboard Text

Creates a new document from text that is in the Clipboard and automatically saves it.

This feature is of particular benefit to people who copy from web pages, e-mails or other programs to keep for quick recall later on.

InfoRecall always makes a new document under the root of the tree rather than making it a branch of a node if you happen to be on one.

The document name is the first thirty (30) or less characters from the clipboard text. The document name is highlighted after the document is created so you can quickly change it if you choose.

To do so:

  • Open an InfoRecall Folder
  • Copy anything from anywhere
  • Choose New with Clipboard Text from the Documents menu (Ctrl+Y)
  • You can Create a Document from the Clipboard while InfoRecall is in the System Tray

To do so:

  • Be sure that an InfoRecall Folder is open
  • Copy anything from anywher
  • Right click on the InfoRecall Icon in the System Tray
  • Choose New with Clipboard Text from menu
