Operating System

Operating System

This option displays detailed information about the operating system.
The Information displayed is related to the computer to which HARDiNFO 2004 was connected, it may be the local computer or a network remote computer.

OS Version Information

Version Information

The Version Information is displayed in the following items:

  • Platform: This item displays the Operating System name or platform.
  • Version: This item displays the Operating System Version number.
  • Build: This item displays the Build Number for the Operating System. It is used for more precise versioning information than product release version numbers. Example: "1381"
  • Service Pack: This item displays the installed Service Pack numbers for the Operating System.
  • Product Suite: This item displays the installed Product Suite. It contains Installed and licensed system product additions to the operating system, like BackOffice, Terminal Server, etc.
  • Quick Fix(es): This item displays the installed Operating System Quick Fix(es). A Quick Fix represents a system-wide Quick Fix Engineering (QFE) or updates that have been applied to the current operating system.

Startup Information

The Startup information is displayed in the following items:

  • Boot Device: This item displays the boot device path from which the Operating System was started.
  • System Folder: This item displays the System folder for the Operating System.
  • OS Status: This item displays the Operating System Status.

WMI Information

The WMI information is displayed in the following items:

  • Version: This item displays the WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) Version number.
  • Database Folder: This item displays WMI Database Folder Location.

Time Zone Settings

The Time Zone Settings information is displayed in the following items:

  • Time Zone: This item displays Time Zone location.
  • Daylight Name: This item displays the Time Zone Daylight name, the Name of the time zone being represented when daylight savings time is in effect. Example: "EDT" (Eastern Daylight Time)

OS Configuration Information

The Operating System Configuration information is displayed in the following items:

  • Registered To: This item displays the Name of the registered user of the operating system.
  • Organization: This item displays the Company name of the registered user (of the operating system).
  • Number of Users: This item displays the Number of user sessions for which the operating system is currently storing state information.
  • Serial Number: This item displays the operating system serial number.
  • Computer Name: This item displays the computer name which identifies your computer on the network.
  • Installation Date: This item displays the installation date of the Operating System.

Registry Size Information

This item displays the current Windows registry size and the maximum allowed size.
