IP Screen

Use this tab to allow/disallow clients to connect by IP address. Note that (as is shown in the screen shot) wildcards (*) are allowed so that a range of IP addresses can be entered. It is important to understand that the order in which IPs are entered matters. The default configuration allows all IPs to connect. To change this, simply add any IPs that you do not want to accept connections from using the Block IP option. If you want to block all IPs by default, and only let certain IPs through, remove the '*.*.*.*' entry and add only IPs that you want to connect. Note that Allowed IPs are always evaluated first in sequential order (from the top of the listbox to the bottom of the listbox), and when the client's IP matches any one of these records, the rest are not evaluated. Next, the Blocked IPs are evaluated in sequential order (from the top of the listbox to the bottom of the listbox). If the client's IP address matches any one of these records, the rest are not evaluated. If your settings files ever get corrupted or deleted and there are no entries in the left listbox, no clients will be able to connect.

IP Address
Indicates the currently selected IP address to edit/enter. Selecting an existing IP address in either of the list boxes will populate this text box.

Allow IP
Select this options if you will be entering an IP address or range of addresses that you wish to allow. When the Add button is pressed, the entry will be added to the listbox on the left.

Block IP
Select this options if you will be entering an IP address or range of addresses that you wish to disallow. When the Add button is pressed, the entry will be added to the listbox on the right.

Allowed IPs
This listbox (on the left) displays all IP addresses that are allowed.

Blocked IPs
This listbox (on the right) displays all IP addresses that are not allowed.

Add
Use this button to add a new IP address or range of addresses (using the * character) to either allow or disallow (depending on whether you have selected the Allow IP or Block IP option button).

Remove
Allows you to remove the entry selected in either of list boxes.

Update
Allows you to update the entry selected in either of the list boxes.
