Viewing Spam Trap

The Spam Trap is a special holding area for email that Lydia considers spam when spam filtering is configured to trap spam. The Spam Trap shows which email account received the spam as well as the date, sender and subject of the email message. The Type column indicates whether the spam was detected by the RBL filter or a custom filter. For custom filters the filter which detected the spam is shown in parenthesis, for RBL filters the ip address of the sending email server is shown.

Recovering Messages
Sometimes legitimate email is sent to the spam trap. To recover a message from the spam trap, highlight the message and click the Recover button. The email will be tagged for recovery and sent back to your email account the next time Lydia checks for new email messages. In addition you will be asked if you would like to create a filter to always allow email from the sender of the trapped message.
