Email Messages
The Email Message window displays the From, Subject, Date/Time and Size information for all email on the selected account.
To change email accounts
Select an account in the Mail Account list. Lydia will automatically connect and display headers for the account.
To view an email message
- Highlight the message and click the View button.
- Double click the message.
- Right click on the message and choose View from the pop-up menu.
To reply to an email message
Right click the message and choose Reply from the pop-up menu.
To compose a new email message
Click the New Mail button.
To create a spam filter
Right click the message and choose Create Spam Filter from the pop-up menu. You can create a filter from the sender's email address or the subject of the email message.
To view the headers and source code of an email message
Right click the message and choose View Source from the pop-up menu. This option is only available when Retrieve message body with headers is enabled in the program Options.
To delete an email message
- Highlight the message and click the Delete button to mark the email the email for deletion.
- Right click the message and choose Delete from the pop-up menu to mark the email for deletion.
Once a message is marked for deletion it will be deleted when you click the Close or Refresh buttons.
To remove the delete mark right click the message and choose Undelete from the pop-up menu.
NOTE: Email deleted with Lydia is deleted from the server and you will not be able to retrieve them later.
Viewing a Message
Because Lydia does not support viewing or saving of attachments it is not susceptible to email borne viruses. You can safely view email within Lydia without fear of infecting your computer with an email virus.
Switching between Plain Text and HTML versions of an email message
Many email messages contain two versions of the message; a plain text version and an HTML version. Generally the HTML version contains a variety of fonts and colors. When an email message contains both versions you can easily switch between the two by clicking the HTML/Text button.
Lydia does not support external components within HTML messages such as images, sounds, java, etc. Lydia will display an X in place of any images within the HTML message.
Replying to an email message
Click the Reply button to reply to the email message.
