Connection

The Connection tab is used to set how you connect to the Internet and how the program should check for new email.

Connect via Cable Modem, DSL or LAN
Select this option if you have a direct connection to the Internet or if you do not use Windows Dial-Up Networking to connect to the Internet.

NOTE: If you are connect to the Internet using dialup software other than Windows Dial-Up Networking you should enable Suppress Error Messages under the Options tab.

Dial-Up Connection

Use this Dial-up to connect to the Internet
Select the Internet account Lydia should use when connecting to the Internet. When you select a Dial-up account the User Name, Password and Phone Number for the account will be displayed. If any information is missing or incorrect you can enter it here.

Ask before connecting and disconnecting
When this option is selected Lydia will ask if you would like to connect and disconnect from the Internet when you choose Check Mail, View Email Messages or Send Email from the menu. This does not apply to automatic email checks.

Automatic email checks

Check for email only while online
Select this option to have Lydia perform automatic checks for new email only while you are online.

Disconnect after checking for new email
When this option is selected Lydia will immediately disconnect after checking for new mail. If the Display message when new mail arrives option is enabled and you have new mail Lydia will wait for two minutes for you to respond to the message and then disconnect.
