Introduction to standards and practices for INSYSTEK solutions. Getting started with the benefits of your INSYSTEK product, and things to consider for implementation in your environment.
GETTING STARTED
Managing a geographically distributed computing environment is a complex issue for most businesses. INSYSTEK solutions simplify the management of IT assets in the Microsoft Windows® environment. INSYSTEK has embraced the Common Information Model (CIM) specification developed by the Distributed Management Task Force. This provides a standard of presenting management information from multiple sources, such as SNMP, DMI, INSYSTEK providers and the Microsoft® Win32® API, using Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI), which is CIM-compliant, into the Microsoft Windows operating system environments.
INSYSTEK Advantages
INSYSTEK provides centralized control of geographically distributed computing environments, providing administrators with a single point from which to manage those systems, in addition to the following advantages:

Deployment Considerations
INSYSTEK solutions are designed for flexibility, which allows for the scalability necessary to support an enterprise implementation. Several factors affect how you architect and deploy the INSYSTEK solution in your network. These considerations can be divided into Physical, Managerial, and Organizational considerations. Network Considerations include: network data line speeds, the number and speed of managed devices in the environment. Managerial and Organizational considerations may include how your organization is structured and the desired management view of the environment. Basic questions that need to be answered are:
How many systems will be running the services?
Where should these machines be located?
Where will the central repository be located?
How many managed devices do I expect to manage?
How does my network speed and architecture affect these factors?
What hardware and operating system do I need?
The architecture is designed to work across LAN, WAN and VPN connections. Basically, as part of the INSYSTEK Non-Invasive approach to management, if Microsoft Windows with HTTP/ FTP services work in your environment, INSYSTEK solutions will also work.
