SYMPTOMS

The Monitoring waits in an Active state and does not appear to monitor any systems.

There are a some possibilities that result in an Inactive monitoring state. Use the following steps to ensure the monitoring service is runing properly:

  • Check for service existance under the Admin Tools Service Section:
    Open up the Administrator Tools Control Panel, and then open up the Services Panel. Check to make sure the monitoring service exists in the list of services. If it was not installed, please refer to the document Issue: Sufficient Privileges for further instruction.
  • If the service is present, but not running: start the service.
    You can right-click the service and start it, also ensure your services is pointed towards the correct database, using the Options Tool for the services found in the Start->Programs->Insystek->Tools menu, as well as running as a user with sufficient privileges.
  • If the service is running: verify no errors/warnings are generated in the event log.
    Open the Administrator Tools Control Panel, and then open up the Event log, checking the Application Log. If you find errors relating to the service, please refer to the document Issue: Monitoring Service Event Log Errors for further instruction.
