E-Mail/Page Configuration

In order for the monitoring service to send mail, a SMTP Service must be configured with a smart host on the system with the Monitoring Service.

Windows SMART Host Configuration

Run the Microsoft Management Console on the computer on which Microsoft SMTP Service is running:

  1. On the Start menu, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
  3. In the console tree, expand Services and Applications, and then expand Internet Information Services.

Default SMTP Virtual Server Property

To view or modify the smart host property of the SMTP virtual server:

  1. Click to select the SMTP virtual server you want to modify.
  2. On the Action menu, click Properties.
  3. Click the delivery tab.
  4. Enter the name of a valid SMTP server in the SMART HOST text box.
  5. Click OK.
