Newsgroup List

The Newsgroup List dialog is displayed from the main window by selecting a News Server from the Server / Newsgroup Pane and pressing the Newsgroup List button on the toolbar.

This dialog may also be displayed automatically when adding a new server to GroupsAloud.

The dialog contains a Newsgroups panel and a Search panel. The Newsgroups panel is loaded with a treeview type display of newsgroups available on the server. To find specific newsgroups, use the Search panel to find a list of newsgroups that contain a given string.

The dialog will contain either a Load or Refresh button, depending on whether the dialog has been used before to download newsgroups for the server. Use the Refresh button periodically to update the list with new newsgroups.

Use the Subscribe and Unsubscribe buttons to subscribe or unsubscribe to the selected newsgroup(s). You must subscribe to a newsgroup in order to download and post messages to the group.
