Main Window

Server/Newsgroup Pane

This pane is located on the far left of the main window. It contains a tree view display of news servers and newsgroups you are currently subscribed to.

Message Header Pane

The Message Header pane is located in the upper right of the main window. This pane contains a list of message headers you have downloaded so far for a selected newsgroup.

The Message Header pane contains the following columns:

Watch - Click this column for the top message in a thread to watch the thread for activity. As messages are added to the thread they will be automatically marked for speaking.

Speaking Status - This column contains the speaking status for a message. The column may contain the following images:

Speaking Status - The message is marked for speaking.

Completed - Speaking for this message has completed.

Click this column for a selected message or the top message of a thread to change the speaking status. To change the status for multiple messages, select one or more messages, and use one of the following entries under the Messages menu:

Mark Selected Messages for Speaking

Mark Selected Messages as already Spoken

Clear Selected Messages

Subject - The subject field from the message header.

From - The user that posted the message.

Date - The date the message was posted.

Message Text Pane

The Message Text pane contains the message for a header selected in the Message Header Pane.
