Create CD Image - Audio/Music

After specifying the CD-ROM drive in the earlier section Starting to Create a CD Image, the next dialog appears when a audio or music CD resides in the CD-ROM drive.

Create Audio CD Image

With a CD that has multiple tracks, you can select which tracks to keep. To select only a few tracks, hold the Ctrl key down while clicking on the specific tracks you want. To select every track, click on Select All. For our example, we will select all the tracks.

The select tracks screen also shows you the type of track, the duration, and the size of the track. A running total of the total selected size and duration (before compression) is also shown.

For the image path, insert a drive, path and image file name. In this case, we've selected a location, d:\audio.iso, with a file name, Brand new day.cdi. You can also browse the system for a location that has enough free space for the image.

Click on Next to start saving the CD image to your hard disk.

A progress dialog appears similar to:

Depending on the compression selected, the speed of your system and CD-ROM drive, the image may be saved faster or slower than the CD would normally play.

Upon completion, you can go into the CD Anywhere Manager, described in detail later in this chapter.
