CD Anywhere Working
We expect you are completely familiar with using your physical CD-ROM drive and the physical CD media. CD Anywhere uses these same ideas, but without any physical drive or media!
The first part of CD Anywhere will read one or more tracks from the physical CD media into a file stored on the hard disk. Most users will elect to compress this image to save disk space. Remember that a CD can hold up to 640 MB of data!
The driver portion of CD Anywhere provides one or more CD-ROM drives that do not exist physically, but will appear as a virtual drive. Windows and programs cannot tell the difference between a physical drive and a virtual drive. If you use Windows Explorer, you will see the CD Anywhere virtual CD drives as additional CD drives attached to the system.
CD Anywhere allows you to load your virtual drive with an image previously saved on the hard drive. This results in easy access to multiple drives and images, without the hassles, noise or slow speed of your physical CD-ROM drives.
