Installing TrackLoan

  1. Decide where on your computer you want TrakLoan to reside. You’ll need to know that when you get to step 7.
  2. Unless you’re installing from a CD, unzip the distribution zip file into a clean di- rectory.
  3. Shut down any other Windows programs you may have running.
  4. Double-click the Setup icon.
  5. The TrakLoan installation program may tell you that it needs to transfer some new installation files to your compouter system. Answer ‘‘Yes’’ to that query.
When the transfer is complete, re-boot and start over again with step 4.
  6. Windows will warn you to shut down other programs before you proceed. You should have done this already so click [OK].
  7. The TrakLoan installation screen (Figure 1) will appear. If you want TrakLoan to be installed in a folder other than ‘‘C:\Program Files\TrakLoan,” click [Change Directory] and make the change. Once you’re satisfied with the choice of directory click the large button in the up- per left corner of the screen. Follow the prompts as the installation proceeds. Mi- crosoft’s installation program has a bug that sometimes keeps it from correctly determining date differences between the files it’s installing and the files already on your computer. During installation the installation program may tell you that the file it’s about to install is older then the current copy of that file on your com- puter. It will then ask if you want to keep the existing file. THE ANSWER IS ALWAYS ‘‘YES.’’
