Research Menu

This duplicates most items located in bottom taskbar on the Research tab, so use whichever is most convenient for you. All actions apply to the Research tab.

  • Portfolio Actions: This menu handles the various actions that can be taken with the current portfolio of symbols open.
    • New Portfolio: Creates a new blank slate portfolio for symbols to be entered into.
    • Open Portfolio: Opens a previously created portfolio of symbols.
    • Trade Sync: Loads all currently open positions held from the Trades tab so you can see the price movement in relation to your buy price and date.
  • Symbol Actions: This menu handles the symbol actions for the current open portfolio.
    • Add Symbols: Pops up a dialog to allow you to enter multiple symbols to add to the current open portfolio.
    • Remove Symbol: After selecting a symbol in the Symbol’s list, clicking this menu will remove the currently selected symbol from the open portfolio.
  • Cursor: The menu changes the way in which the cursor interacts with the main price chart.
    • Default: Default windows arrow that is able to perform chart right-click actions.
    • Zoom-In: This will switch the cursor to a “+” magnifying glass when hovered over the main price chart (not when over the indicators). Clicking once on the main price chart will zoom-in on the quotes. You are also able to click and hold the mouse button down
      on the main price chart to zoom-in a specific selection of the chart.
    • Zoom-Out: This will switch the cursor to a “-” magnifying glass when hovered over the main price chart (not when over the indicators). Clicking once on the main price chart will zoom-out on the quotes.
  • Periodicity: This changes how many bars will be drawn for a set of quote data.
    • Daily: A new price bar will be drawn for each day the market is open.
    • Weekly: Only one price bar will be drawn for a full week of market data.
    • Monthly: Only one price bar will be drawn for a full month of market data.
  • Chart Type: Represents the way the securities quotes will be displayed on the main price chart.
    • Candlestick: Quotes will be drawn in candlestick form with Open, High, Low, and Closing values.
    • OHLC: Quotes will be drawn in bar form with Open, High, Low, and Closing values.
    • Close Price: Only the adjusted closing price will be drawn as a line.
