Opportunities allow you to track potential sales before they get to quotation or invoice. Tracking potential sales help in forecasting future sales

Entering data in the same format as an quotation or invoice, opportunites will also let you track the progress of the sale.

As you track the progress of the sale you can either record it as a lost sales or convert it to either a quotation or an invoice by clicking on the "convert" link on the menu bar
