Pentium 3 800 MHz or equivalent; 256 MB RAM; 4 GB Hard Drive with 150 MB of free disc space; Internal CD-ROM; 10/100 Ethernet connection.

Mac Specifications
PowerMac G3 500 MHZ or equivalent; 256 MB RAM; 4 GB Hard Drive with 150 MB of free disc space; Internal CD-ROM;10/100 Ethernet connection.

Recommended System:

Operating System

Barcode Alpha is a cross-platform application that should run on any OS that supports SUN Java 1.4 SE or better.

Currently Barcode Alpha is tested on the following platforms:

• Windows: Win2k, WinXP with SUN Java 1.4
• Linux: SuSE, Fedora with SUN Java 1.4

Barcode Alpha should work with all Windows versions that support Java 1.4 or better.

Hard drive space

Barcode Alpha requires 100MB of free disk space and may require additional 50 MB during installation process which leads to total of 150MB of free disk space.

Supported printers

Barcode Alpha can work with any GUI printer attached to LPT, USB or even network printers.
Barcode Alpha can print on almost any laser, Ink Jet or barcode printer.

Only requirement is that printer is capable of printing graphics since barcodes are printed as graphics.

• Windows OS – reads list of installed printers returned by OS.
• Linux based OS – reads list of installed printers - uses CUPS.
