Synchronize Computers

To synchroize computers, you can start with a new incremental backup of what you want to synchronize and restore it on the computer that you want to synchronize. A new incremental backup is always a full backup with a time stamp as part of the catalog name. Each subsequent synchronization can be done by running additional incremental backups of the same task. Alternative, you can also create full backups to synchronize computers. However, full backups usually take up more storage and take longer time to complete.

For two computers with matching drive letters, we recommend that you choose the Compress to Backup file (.tbz) option as the Restore will restore files to the same drive letters. This option requires that you have TurboBackup on the target computer to restore your backup. On the target computer, use the Restore From menu item to open and restore the backup. If you choose the Compress to Zip (.zip) option in Backup Wizard, you can restore your backup on another computer using TurboZIP or other Zip utilities. In either case, TurboBackup will add new files and update files that have been changed on the other computer. No files will be deleted during restore.

To Synchronize Computers:

  • Create backup from the source computer.
  • Restore on the target computer, enter the number of volumes for multiple volume backup.
