Duplicate Files & Folders

You can use TurboBackup to back up or copy data, files and folders without compression. You can use this option by selecting Duplicate files and folders in Backup Wizard. This option does not split a file when the available media space is less than the file size. If you want to be able to split large file, you should use either one of the compression options.

Deleted files recovery files salvage utilities data recovery software downloads
Windows data recovery lost files recovery usb files recovery

The following are the pros and cons when you perform backup without compression:

Pros:

  • It is for archiving purpose and does not require any software to restore it.
  • It takes less time to run backup because no compression is performed.
  • It does not require temporary hard disk space to perform compression.
  • Automatically supports multi-volume when size exceeds single DVD/CD.
  • If one file or one disc of the multi-volume set fails, the rest is still usable.

Cons

  • Subject to ISO File Name length limitations and 2GB single file size limit.
  • Does not split a single file if its size is larger than available space or 2GB.
  • DVD/CD file system different from Windows, may lose file system structure.
  • Because there is no compression, backup may take up more target storage.
  • Password protection and comment are not available for this type of backup.

You should consider using the no-compression option when you have large backup with ample space on the target media but tight on the source media. This option does not require that you have enough temporary free space on your hard disk to perform compression. This option saves you backup time but maybe at the expense of using more target media.

Creat New Backup Task

Use the Backup/New Task menu item or click the New Toolbar Icon Add task to start a Backup Wizard.

Use only "/" for path if you want to store it at the root folder or directory.
