Batch & Silent Backup

Batch Backup

To back up multiple tasks with one click, use the Backup > Batch Backup menu. The dialog will display all registered tasks in TurboBackup. You can check off any number of items and click on the Backup button to start backup all of them at once. TurboBackup uses its multi-threading technology when performing multiple backups. These multiple operations are concurrent and not sequential. Some backup tasks may be completed before the others and not necessarily in the order that they are listed in the Batch Backup dialog. If there is interdependency, i.e. same files appear in more than one task, we strongly recommend that you exercise caution when using the Delete original file after backup option because the file may be deleted and unavailable for another task.

Silent Backup

The Silent backup mode is used for unattended backup when user response is not available, such as running scheduled tasks. When selected, no dialog or progress indicator will be displayed. You can use the Tools > Default Options menu, Backup/Advanced Options page, or through the Options button on the last wizard page of the selected individual task, to select the Silent Backup option. (Select a task and click the Wizard icon on the main toolbar to access the wizard.) Check off the Silent backup option box will suppress messages and progress indicator.

When you schedule a silent backup, you need to make sure that TurboBackup and its scheduler have access permission to both source and target throughout the backup process.
