Back up Photos, Music & Video

There are task templates already created by TurboBackup such as back up My Music, My Photos, and My Videos. You can select the task in the left panel and click on the Backup > Backup Now menu or the Backup Now Toolbar Icon to back up your data. You can change backup options by clicking on the Wizard Icon on the main toolbar and go through the wizard pages to edit the task, such as changing the target location and other options. You can also click on the New Toolbar Icon or use the Backup/New Task menu to to start a Backup Wizard and create your own task such as backup other photos and music files folders.

If My Videos backup task, or any pre-configured task, is not listed in the left panel, select the Backup > Templates menu or the Backup > Templates > More menu to bring it in.

You can use the Backup > Batch Backup menu to select and backup multiple tasks in one action. You can also rename a task or remove a task. To add or restore a template to the catalog, use the Backup/Template menu item to select the specific template you want to add back to the list.

Example:

To back up your photos, select My Photos from the task list and click the Backup Now Toolbar Icon or select the Backup/Backup Now menu. That's all you have to do. You will see your photos backup being created.

You can follow the steps below to create your own photos, music, and videos backup task. Use the Backup/New Task menu item or click the New Toolbar Icon to start a Backup Wizard.

What to Back up and Where to Store

• Task name: Enter a unique task name, which can be any name of your choice. (Grayed out for existing task templates) Click on the Next button when you are finished.
• Source: Click on the Files or Folders button in the Wizard to select the files and folders that you want to back up. You can use the Remove button to remove files and folders from the list.
• Subfolder: Check off the Include subfolders option box if you want to include subfolders in your backup.
• Options: Select one of the compression options: industry standard .zip file, or .tbz Backup file (retains drive information), or Duplicate Files and Folders if you do not want to compress your backup files. Click on the Next button when you are finished.
• Where: Select Backup to a hard drive, removable drive, or networked drive if you want to back up to hard disk, Zip disk, or floppies; select Backup to CD or DVD if you want to back up to CD or DVD. You can also back up to your own remote FTP server or to FileStream Remote Server (subscription required).
• Target: If you want to use the default folder* to store your backup file with your own backup file name, you can enter the name of the backup file, or you can enter a complete path for the backup file along with your own backup file name. Use only "/" for path if you want to store it at the root folder or directory.
  * You can set Default Backup Folder location in the Tools/Default Options menu on the Program Options page.
• Click on the Next button when you are finished.

Protect and Add Comments to the Backup*
This feature is not available to Duplicate Files and Folders.

• Select "No, thank you" for both password and comments.
• Click on the Next button when you are finished.

Schedule

• If you want to schedule your backup, you can check off the Schedule this task option box on the Schedule wizard page and select frequency and other options for your backup. (See also Advanced Scheduling.)
• Click on the Next button when you are finished.

Review

• On the Review page you can review all backup options*. If you want to change any of them, click on the Options button to make your changes.
  * You can change the default options in TurboBackup. To change the default options, use the Tools > Default Options menu.
• Click the Finish button to finish creating the backup task.

Start Backup

• Use the Backup/Backup Now menu item or click on the Backup Now Toolbar Icon to start backup.

Edit Backup

• To change the backup file name, folder, and options, click on the Wizard Toolbar Icon or use the Backup/Backup Wizard menu to edit the task script file. You can also rename a task or remove a task.
