Specify Index File

At this step you specify an index file from which to restore your data. Index files are stored in the same folder with backup copies.

Specify Index File

To browse for folder with required backups and index file press either "Local/LAN/CD" or "FTP" radio button. To read more about browsing for folders on Local, LAN, CD/DVD or FTP server, see Select Destination topic for Backup item.

There are two types of index files used in Handy Backup Pro - backup.hbi and spanXXXX.hbi (in case you backed up your files on a CD/DVD), where XXXX is a hexadecimal number of span.

Connect using a different user account: If a shared folder on LAN can be accessed only using an account different from yours, then you can click "different user account" and in the displayed dialog enter another username and password.

Restore from CD/DVD

If you used disc spanning, you should insert all your discs with backups into your CD/DVD device one-by-one to restore all data.

Every disc from your span contains all necessary information about files on that disc, that is, the disc is sufficient for restoration of files kept on it. If a certain large file was fragmented and written on several discs, the program needs to scan all discs on which that file was written in order to restore it.
