Importing a video file into Flash Video MX
Flash Video MX is a powerful program that can convert both common video files and DVD files.

To import common video file:
- Click the folder
button in the main interface. Then the Open dialog box pops up.
- Locate the driver and folder of the files you wish to convert.
- Select the video file you wish to convert and click Open. Flash Video MX supports almost all of the common videos, such as MPEG, WMV, AVI, MOV, RM, VOB, 3GP, DV, etc.
- Flash Video MX opens the video file. You can preview the video in the left panel.
Note: Flash Video MX allows you to import a predefined project that you saved last time, so you need not to customize the video again.
Editing the video
On the Edit tab, you can trim the video duration, and crop the video content to save part from the video. The following parts illustrate the detail information.

In the Trim section, the trim function helps to trim the video duration, and this is probably the easiest way to establish precise control of your clip timing.
- Enter the time where you want the video clip to start in the Start Time area.
- Click the
button to confirm the start time you just entered.
- If you want to set the start time exactly, click the
button to go to the previous frame, or click the button to go to the next frame.
- Enter the time where you want the video clip to stop in the End Time area.
- Click the
button behind to confirm the end time you just entered.
- If you want to set the end time exactly, click the
button to go to the previous frame, or click the button to go to the next frame.
- The video duration time will be displayed in the Capture area.
Alternatively, it is easier to trim the video during playing.
- When it comes to the frame where you want the video clip to start, click the Mark Start Point button

- When it comes to the frame where you want the video clip to finish, click the Mark End Point button

- You can even drag the line under the left preview window to select part of the video quickly.
In the Crop section, you can crop the video content to save part from the video.
- In the left panel, use the video preview selector-dragging the slider controls to crop the video.
- Alternatively enter values in the spin controls for the right, left, top, and bottom edges to crop the video. Top is the distance (in pixel) between the top of the cropped video to the top of the original video; Left is the distance (in pixel) between the left of the cropped video to the left of the original video; Right is the distance (in pixel) between the right of the cropped video to the left of the original video; Bottom is the distance (in pixel) between the bottom of the cropped video to the top of the original video.
- The cropped information will appear in the bottom of the pane, such as video size, aspect ratio.
Note: To get better video effects, the video aspect ratio is better between 4:3 and 16:9. When you crop the video, you may take notice of your video aspect ratio.
Adjusting the video effects
The Effect tab contains some options that can be used to adjust the video effects.

- In the Video section, drag the Contrast slider to adjust the contrast.
- Drag the Brightness slider to correct for any changes in exposure.
- By checking the Flip box, you can flip the video vertically.
- The Deinterlace option helps to eliminate the interlace artifacts to get better display effects.
- In the Audio section, drag the Volume slider to adjust the original volume for your video.
Note: It is better to adjust the contrast first, then drag the Brightness slider to correct for any changes in exposure.
Adding watermark to video
On the watermark tab, there are options to add image watermark, and text to the video. When the video plays to the point that you want to add image or text, please click the button. Then select the Add Image or Add Text in the drop-down list.
