Database
Use this page to adjust parameters of database. For the simplicity the database is broken into daily portions.
You can reserve table of database 2 of 3 times for safety. If there is breakdown into the main table, information from the 1-st copies will be loaded. If the 1-st copy is broken too, the 2-nd copy will be used. At last, if the 2-nd copy is bad, empty table will be loaded (however, as since database is broken into daily portions, information only for one day will be lost). Control reserving process by fields "1-st copy" and "2-nd copy". The First parameter is number of records, after which the 1-st and the 2-nd copies will be created.
Archive
Use the page to tune the parameters of the system backup and archive function.
The archiving is used to create of the separate database containing most important information. This database can be stored on some storage medium, moved to another computer or used for databank building (>>).
The parameter "Archive:" contains folder name where archive will be stored. Use "Select path to Records Archive" button to select new path (see also: Comments).
Backup function is used to create reserve copy of the separate database, which containing daily information or parts of one. This database can be stored on some storage medium, moved to another computer or used for databank building. Backup function has 4 modes: manual, automatic daily backup, automatic periodic (backup every xx minutes) and backup on exit.
ATTENTION! Automatic daily backup do copy of PREVIOUS date database. (>>).
The "BackUp:" field contains the name of the folder where backup copies will be stored. Use "Select path to BackUp" button to select new folder (see also: Comments).
Comments: To store archives and backups on other computers of your local network, use network drives only.
Attention! Don’t use following path type:
\\MYCOMP\c\BackUp\
\\ANOTHERCOMP\A\
Instead this connect network resource \\MYCOMP\c\BackUp\ to your computer as network drive Z:\. To do this open "Network neighborhood", click right mouse button on necessary network resource and choose "Map network drive".
