Archive and BackUp Functions
Database window may be in 3 modes: “Main Database” - displaying contents of main database, "Backup" - displaying contents of Backup database and "Archive" - displaying contents of records Archive. The backgrounds for the “Main Database”, "Backup" and "Archive" are different.
Backup function is used to create reserve copy of the separate database, which containing daily information or parts of one. This database can be stored on some storage medium, moved to another computer or used for databank building. Backup function has 4 modes: manual, automatic daily backup, automatic periodic (backup every xx minutes) and backup on exit.
ATTENTION! Automatic daily backup do copy of PREVIOUS date database.
The archiving is used to create of the separate database containing most important information. This database can be stored on some storage medium, moved to another computer or used for databank building.
To switch database window modes use drop-down menu of the "Database mode" button or corresponding items in "Database" menu.
If database window is in "Main Database" mode, you can press the "Database mode" button to create the reserve copy of current database. You can also set up mode of Automatic backup (>>).
To view the backup copy, select "View Backup" from drop-down menu of the database mode button or corresponding item in "Database" menu. When dialog window will appears select desired date.
To create the archive, select desired records from the database and press "Send to archive" button (>>). To view contents of the archive, select "View Archive" from drop-down menu of the "Database mode" button or corresponding item in "Database" menu.
