Program Screen

  • On the top left are the playback controls. The right and left sliders control the right and left volumes. You can play the Voice track, the Music track, or the Mixed track by clicking on the appropriate play buttons, and you can use the tape transport buttons to go to the beginning or the end of your recorded piece, or to pause, fast forward, rewind, or stop playback.
  • In the middle of the left hand side, you will see the Recording controls.

Note on Recording Sources: To change the recording source click on Rec Source. This is important as you want to make sure that your program is recognizing your recording source, such as microphone, USB device, or XP 202. The currently active recording source will appear above the button. Should your sound fail to register in the LED indicators to the immediate left of the words Voice and Music beside their respective Waveform windows, first move the volume sliders (labeled L & R) up. If it still appears that your recording source is not being recognized, go to File->Preferences->Devices and change the recording source here.

  • Between the record and playback control panels are indicators showing the current play/record position in minutes, seconds, and hundredths. Between the waveform displays for the Voice Track and the Music Track you will see the indicator giving the total length of the file.
  • The volume readout is to the right of the playback and recording controls. You will see it light up to show the volume during recording and playback.
  • Mixing the Voice Track and Music track with the ePodcast Creator down to a final output file is controlled by the three buttons at the top. You can save as a Mixed track, or save the Music track or Voice track separately. Note: Once you have saved as a Mixed Track, you cannot go back and edit the Voice or Music track separately. They must be edited first, or saved as separate tracks in order to do this.
  • The area labeled Voice Track shows the vocals you have recorded and the Music Track shows the Mixed music during recording. When there is audio in this portion of ePodcast Creator you will see the waveform in the window.
  • Once you have started recording, you can use your mouse to move the Master Mix Slider up and down based upon the which audio (Voice or Music) you want to be dominant in the Mix.
