Note Display

The Note Display radio buttons enable you to use Sight Reading Studio for different purposes. The default “Always Show Notes” will show the notes on the staff as the melody is being played and keep them there. It is like practicing sight-reading from a virtual songbook.

The second options “Hide Notes After Question” will display the notes while the melody is being played and then hide them during the response. This will fill force the student to play the phrase back from memory thus developing different skills. This is a more advanced feature and should only be used if the student is ready for it.

The third option “Hide Notes” turns the program more into a super ear-training program rather then a sight-reading program. In this mode the notes will always be hidden until you play them back on the midi keyboard. This mode can lead to the development of perfect pitch and an unbelievably acute level of musicianship. The Note Display options greatly expand the versatility of this program.
