CLICK DURING QUESTION
To access the Metronome tab just click on the “Metronome” toolbar button or select Metronome from under the Setup menu. Sight Reading Studio’s metronome component is indispensable to unlocking this programs full potential. I recommend you leave “Click During Question” checked. The musical phrase will play accompanied by a click track. This track will help you to respond to the notes in the correct time.

CLICK DURING REPLY
You can also leave “Click During Reply” checked though this is a more advanced feature. When it is checked, the metronome will continue to beat after the melody for the duration of the measure. The objective is for you to play your response exactly against the metronome. This will give you the opportunity to develop a very accurate sense of rhythm. The metronome will stop beating when the allocated time for completing the measure has expired. This option may be very uncomfortable at first and should only be used when your rhythm has matured to point for it to be a benefit.

METRONOME VOLUME
Use this slider to adjust the metronome’s volume. The range is from 0 to 127.

METRONOME CLICK NOTE
Use the “Click Note” popup to select which pitch the metronome will play on. The range is from 48 to 72.

PICKUP MEASURE
Each melody will be introduced by a pickup measure. The metronome will count off and prepare you for the start of the measure. You have the option to select which beat to start from. So for example if the measure was 4/4 time you could set the pickup to start on the 3rd beat.
