Alert Settings
This section of the program's settings configures parameters for sending alerts via e-mail and SMS.
In the Log field, you can change the alert log file name and specify log file size limit and log writing options.
In the Rise alerts... field, you can set when the program should rise alerts:
a) Always, when the device turns up or goes down (alerts rise on the program's start during the first check).
b) On device state changes only (the program remembers the results of the first check and rises alerts when device's state changes).
In the Message text section, you can set text strings which are shown on the screen, or sent via e-mail or SMS when alerts arise (when devices start or stop). Specify the %A key for representing device's address. The program will replace the key with object's network address. Specify the %T key for representing type of the check (Ping, TCP, folder existance, etc). Specify the %D key for representing current date and time. Specify the %C key for representing device's label (comments). All values are substituted automatically.
E-Mail settings
This section of the program's settings configures mail server settings for sending e-mails:
- SMTP server address
- Mail server port (default port for SMTP is 25)
- Sender's e-mail address
- Code page
- If your SMTP server requires authorization before sending messages, you will need to turn on "SMTP-authorization required before sending" and enter your login and password.
SMS settings
The program sends SMS by sending an E-Mail message to the cellular operator's SMS server. Therefore, you should first configure connection settings for the SMS server. In the SMS setup dialog, select a cellular operator (there is a number of them on the list), SMS server name or IP address (get this information from your operator's customer service), message composition rules (number in message body, text in message body, etc.), country code prefix (without the "+" sign).
Mail server settings can be defined at the Settings window (the section E-mail).
